Phantom Memories (Group Exhibition, October 2025)
Phantom Memories was a group exhibition presented in October 2025, featuring the work of eighteen artists across multiple disciplines. The exhibition highlighted the diverse talents of six fashion designers, nine painters, two sculptors, and one glass artist — the latter represented by the artist’s own contribution.
In response to an open call issued by the lead fashion designer, the artist proposed the creation of a glass installation to serve as a backdrop for the runway presentation — a structure designed to partially obscure the models while offering the audience fleeting glimpses before their full emergence on stage.
Following acceptance, the artist collaborated closely with the designer to develop a work that aligned with the show’s dark academic aesthetic. The resulting design concept centered on a pair of twin windows inspired by Gothic architecture, interpreted through the artist’s characteristic Art Nouveau style. Rendered in a palette of red, black, and purple, each window measures 36 x 50 inches and is constructed from cathedral-style glass to produce dynamic light reflections across the runway.
The principal material — crushed clear glass — was selected for its ability to diffuse visibility while maintaining a sense of luminosity. Accents of pink and red, influenced by traditional French glasswork, appear subtly within the composition. The arched framework integrates Gothic and Art Nouveau sensibilities: traditional floral motifs entwine with undulating purple curves, intersected by a spiderweb design and enclosed within a deep gray border.
Through this work, the artist reimagines the stained glass window as both architectural form and performative screen — a site of concealment and revelation that echoes the layered aesthetics of Phantom Memories
